Strong people for you

Dear Jesus,

I thank you for the guides and mentors that you have given me the privilege to meet.

They have wisdom and inspiration that comes from you.

They have helped to shape the person I am today. 

Yes, you are Lord and everything is under your control even our lives. 

But I strongly believe that embracing you as Lord over our lives means to also accept the good assistance that is available to us to help us become strong people for you.

Save us from presumption and putting ourselves into situations that only seek to hinder us.

Its Temptations

Dear Jesus,

This time of year is such a joyous time.

People running to and fro in preparation for the big day. 

Everyone is so excited. But at the same this time of year comes with its temptations.

Spending. Drinking. Sex. Overindulging.

Lord help us to practise self-control and discipline and enter the new year with a hopeful and optimistic outlook on life.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for the lessons you teach us in the bible.

About the way you dealt with different kind of people.

Real people. With real situations. Everyday situations and dilemmas. Political and personal.

Im still learning so much.

And the beauty of it, is that we are a so different with different experiences going on, different ways and different natures.

New and unique.

But you know just the way to deal with us all. 

There is nothing that you cannot relate to.

Hold Our Heads High

Dear Jesus,

This week has been an up and down week.

Situations and circumstances may have come that we have been very unsure about.

Nevertheless Lord, I am encouraged that though these dark times may surround us, your rod and staff helps me not to be afraid of anyone and anything.

Your goodness and your mercy will be with us for as long as we live. 

For it doesnt matter what others think; whether we are unhappy or happy, struggling or succeeding, you still hold us firmly in your hands.

Cherishing us, loving us deeply and guiding us.

That I can boast in and for that we can hold our heads high.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for a wage to buy the basic nessecities of life.

Food, clothes, shelter and all other things that help us to enjoy life.

You don’t just provide through our wages but you provide through many other ways.

Friends, family and strangers.

Open our minds to the ways you tell us that you are with us everyday.
