Spiritual Growth

A New Day

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for this new day. Thank you for reminding me everyday that you love us, how much you want us to embrace you even through the difficult times.

If you hadn’t helped me understand this, I would not be able to grow and I know you want all of us to grow.

The fact that you love us is enough and we can be content that everything that comes with that will be for our greater good.

Help me to embrace you and hear you when you are speaking.

Not just hear you, but understand and accept what I have heard from you and allow that to change me.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for all your advice in proverbs.

Life is real, people are real, characters are real.

Help us to handle life the right way, to deal wisely with people and most off all seek to connect with other people.

Change us to be more like you.

Im not asking you to change my circumstances, although I would love for you to do that.

Change me, for good.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

First of all, thank you.

Everyday I discover how selfish and wicked my heart is.

How much I need to change.

But I am glad and content with the fact that you regard us as your own.

And everything that happens you’ve assured us that it is all working out for our good.

What is happening right now may not be what I expected and what I planned for, but I believe it is given me exactly what I need.

Its not easy but thank you that all our experiences are there to bring out the things that reflect you.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Im choosing to be thankful for the freedom you give to us all to be free to just be, without fear of guilt and shame.

You love us so much regardless of what we do, say or think.

But you don’t desire for us to stay as we are, you desire us to change.

I’m learning to settle in my mind that change is not easy, change is not straightforward, change is not easy to understand and sometimes change doesn’t have a formula to follow.

And the only way change will happen is if I accept all the good things you want to share with me.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

We have problems. We have questions. We have issues.

I am learning through it all that although having the answers is good.

It is even better to do what it takes to get to those answers.

Sometimes we don’t get the answers we are looking for.

But Lord help us never to stop searching, questioning, reflecting, learning and creating.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Its the end of the week, the end of a month and the start of a new one.

The start of a new season.

Some of us will be going back to work, some of us will be going back to school, some of us will be starting new journeys.

Thank you for new opportunities and chances to grow and let go.

What a perfect time to be starting new things.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

How do I know when I am content with my circumstances?

How can I tell to testify that I am surely content?

Who in the bible showed a lack of contentment and what did they do about it?

Lord many of us are in situations that we dont like or are experiencing something less than what we desire the most.

But although this may be the case for us, please help us to look at things in such a away that helps us to learn something positive from it.

Something that will not only help ourselves but in the long run will help the future and all those in it.

Lord, even if it is just a little thing learnt and a little time to learn it.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Living a godly life requires so much patience and diligence.

Sometimes it is hard to not expect things to happen overnight.

To let things happen evolutionary rather than revolutionary.

To allow ourselves to just grow, learn, make mistakes, fall and having the courage to start again.

It takes a lot of humility and self-resepct.

So far this is what I am learning about life and I am excited for the future.

Thank you Jesus,

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Remind us that change is good. Teach us the benefits of change whether it be good or bad change.

Show us what we can do in those changes.

I don’t like change. It threatens my way of doing things and it makes me uncomfortable.

It means that I have to show a side of myself that I am completely confident about showing. It means that I will have to start soing something new that I am unfamiliar with.

But Lord, I know that in those moments is where we can really change into extraordinary people. Where we can learn new things about ourselves and the world around us.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for bringing me through another week.

At times its been very difficult to handle. I have nearly lost my cool with people.

I have been left confused as to why people choose to act the way they do.

But Lord, I realise that that is none of my concern, that is none of my business.

I just want to live the life you have given me in the best way.

To become changed each and every day.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

I am grateful for the opportunities you put in my way to meet new people and come out of my comfort zone.

Its one thing being presented with the chance but its a whole different story to experience those opportunities.

Lord we need your strength to handle what you give to us in the best way we can.

To get out what is good for us and help us grow into honourable people.

Continue to inspire us to examine and focus on what is empowering.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Taking risks is never an easy task.

Risks means losing, letting go, stepping into unfamiliarity .

But you have shown me in life that taking risks allows us to grow and thrive.

To learn and become different people to what we were before.

Who wants to stay the same? Help us to develop that taste to take calculated and good risks.

You took a risk. You died for us. For people who would in the end reject you or accept and it is changing the world.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

As the years go by you continue to reveal what is important in this life.

You continue to uncover revelations and insights.

Things that help us see life for what it really is.

As we grow and learn my prayer is that we will never give up the search for meanin and purpose kn our lives.

That although we may fall behind at times and waver we will always look to you as the one who will give us new strength and new perspective to carry on and continue.
In your Name,
