Forgiveness

IT WAS A NOT SO DESIRABLE DAY TODAY

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for extending your invitation to me to come directly to you without fear for forgiveness and grace in this time of need.

It was a not so desirable day today. Forgive me for the wrong that I have done today; the actions I did, the words I said, and the thoughts I thought.

Guide me and lead me to people who will give me good counsel and advice.

I know you have provided whatever the outcome is. You said that you will provide all my needs according to your riches.

In your Name,

Amen

CONFESS OUR FAULTS ONE TO ANOTHER

Dear Jesus,

I have a confession. I have done something wrong. I know what I have done is wrong.

You don’t desire for me to hide my sins and iniquities but to acknowledge them and to forsake them.

Please lord, don’t let it stop here, but lead me to someone who I can give account to. Someone who can help me to understand.

You said that we ought to confess our faults one to another that we may be healed.

I accept that even now you will stay true to your word and you will forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

In your Name,

Amen

THE KIND THAT IS ACTIVE

Dear Jesus,

Good Morning!

Its a fairly good day today. Its not raining.

But besides the weather, you are constantly good, your intentions toward us never change.

Forgive me for my attitude toward (name) yesterday. I wasn’t very patient with him/her.

I think I owe him/her an apology and maybe just sit down and talk to him/her about it.

Thank you for opportunities to exercise patience.

Not the patience that is passive and only for a moment but the kind that is active, forbearing and productive.

Your patience, the teaching and the learning patience.

Thank you for helping me realise this.

How can we live like this?

In your Name,

Amen

REWARDS OF FORGIVENESS

Dear Jesus,

Its the end of the day.

Thank you for the experience.

I’ve had a good time taking in all the events of the day.

Please forgive me and help me to forgive others who have wronged me.

The rewards of forgiveness are valuable. Harmony, Love, Peace, Joy, Thankfulness. A sound mind. A positive mind.

You said that I must first clean out the inside of my cup first? Help me to do that Lord.

In your Name,

Amen

YOU CRIED BECAUSE YOU LOVE US

Dear Jesus,

I read in your bible that you cried.

You cried when you realised no one believed in you.

You cried because you love us so much and don’t want any of us lost because of our distrust in you.

Sometimes we find it hard to trust you, to see who you say you are and to know it.

We say things and we do things out of distust of you.

Forgive us. Help us to trust you.

In your Name,

Amen

FORGIVE ME FOR THIS SIN

Dear Jesus,

I did something that I know you are not pleased with.

I got comfortable with it, I clothed it, I made it out to be no big deal and brushed it under the carpet, until it came back to bite me.

Why did I do that?

Because I wanted something. I wanted to gain something for myself.

You told me to come clean from the beginning but I never listened to you. I never trusted that you would defend me.

I never looked at the consequences, I never thought about the future.

Forgive me for this sin.

In your Name,

Amen

HOPE TO CLING TO

Dear Jesus,

I have done wrong. I can’t take it back. Its been done.

Please help me to look back and learn from this and try and resolve it.

I don’t want to make it a burden but to look forward in hope.

Thank you for the hope you give us, I can’t imagine what life would be like if you didn’t give us hope to cling to.

We would all be very miserable, unhappy and sad. Life would be un-livable.

Thank you.

In your Name,

Amen

LETTING GO

Dear Jesus,

Letting go is not an easy task.

Especially when that letting go involves something so invaluable and precious to us.

But sometimes letting go is a good thing to make room for other opportunities and goals we desire for our lives.

To make those things a reality.

Lord help us to understand what is right to let go of and what to aspire for.

In your Name,

Amen
