Discouragement & Depression

Dear Jesus,

You have said in the bible that there is no temptation that I have experienced that is not common for us all to experience.

I struggle, I complain, but you have said that you will not allow me to be tempted above what I am able to take.

I cannot bear this at all. But I trust you, you are with me all the way, strengthening me to be able to bear it.

Thank you for being my closest friend.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

When I look back on the past I feel angry, depressed, hurt, embarrassed and unforgiving.

Its hard to see that all my experiences are working out for my good, especially the one’s that don’t feel good.

But you said it and you never lie.

Right now I’m taking your word for it, even though I’m finding it hard to see what good will and is coming out of this.

You said that the servant is not greater than the master and masters are supposed to be strong right?

You are so strong, you have so much might and noble power and good wisdom Lord.

I trust and thankful that in my weakness I have your strength, I have your guidance, I have your support.

Thank you for the privilege of being yours.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Thank you. Thats all I can really say.

Things are out of my control, but things are never out of control because you are in control.

You said to be still and know that you are God.

Help us all to accept that whatever happens it will help us to grow, and be strong minded.

Lord, I don’t just want to accept but live like I have accepted. A life that reflects your personality.

You know all of us personally and you know how to shape us into the individuals you want us to be.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Life can be so hard sometimes.

Sometimes I get scared that I have fallen so low I don’t even know who I am.

I can’t tell where I am going.

I struggle to tell whether I am doing the right thing.

Is there anyone out there who feels this way Lord?

I remember that you said that you are near to the broken hearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.

You said that in our temptations you would help us bear them.

Its hard to see this right now.

Please help us see you in every situation.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

You’ve invited us to come to you as we are weary and heavy burdened and you would give us rest.

Right now, there is a lot happening all at once.

If I’ve needed rest today, I know this is a moment I need it.

To be quiet, to be reassured, to be certain, to know that all will be well in the end.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

You said that when we are angry about something its ok.

We are not doing a bad thing when we get angry.

But thank you that you’ve given us a solution to help us with this strong emotion.

Not to sin but instead think about whatever is troubling me while I lay down in my bed.

To share it all with you and trust you.

Thank you for this much needed advice.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Life is full of hurt, stress, pain, uncomfort, surprises, expectations and standards.

I feel like i’m running away from all these things.

What am I running away from?

We don’t want to run away from you God.

Although our experiences may be confusing and unstable at times, knowing that you are with us makes the experience worth while.

Through it you allow us to be taught and to learn your ways.

Help us to remember this.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

You came to give us a better way of life.

A way that offers us a life of peace, security and safety.

You took the time to teach people about this way of life and how to attain this life.

But there are people who really struggling.

People who have started off well but are struggling now to fight the good fight of faith.

I am one of those persons, Lord.

I feel like I am losing and I am slowly going back to how things were before you took me into your arms and saved me.

Please help me.

In your Name,

Dear Jesus,

Life is so full of dissapointments at the least expected times.

And it is hard to handle these dissapointments.

Its hard to exercise the patience needed to weather these dissapoitnments.

Support us to learn that regardless of what life throws at us we are still alive, life is still beautiful and we have the power to change our outlook.

In your Name,
